You are going to Sweat
Get ready to sweat, you will be surprised that ZUMBA makes you sweat more than others activities do. Make sure you bring a small towel and wipe off your sweat during quick break. Besides, make sure you bring a big bottle of water to stay hydrated. After the first class, I am sure you’ll be addicted.
Party With The Right Outfits.
You don’t have to invest in the EXPENSIVE ZUMBA clothes because ZUMBA clothes might not be suitable for you. Just wear simple sportswear that you feel comfortable with so that you can MOVE better. Beside, footwear is also very important. Traditional running shoes are designed for back-to-front motion but Zumba dances are side-to-side motion. Get a shoes with flat bottom design will help you dance better and prevent sprain.
Different Levels of Dancers
You will be surrounded by different levels of ZUMBA dancers. Do not feel shy about your shapes and sizes at ZUMBA class. You just have to try your best to follow the ZUMBA Instructor steps. As long as you try your best, no one will look down at you.
There are some hardcore dancers will be jumping and taking things to the next level with every step, while others will choose to take a break during change of songs. Do not try to catch up with the PRO, because your muscles and stamina need times to get stronger. Just do whatever feels right to your body.
Don’t Stand at the Front
Even if you are excited to get started, do not stand front and centre at your first class. You are encourage to stand in the middle or back. Stand behind the Senior Dancers so that you can follow their move. After you attend a few times, try out different spots around the studio to see which spot you like the most.
You will Mess Up
It’s okay to mess up in your first few classes. The mission of ZUMBA is to make dancing enjoyable for everyone. As long as you are continuing to move and refusing to give up, you’re doing the workout right.
